The contribution of “childless cat ladies” to society

Women (and presumably men, but Vance didn’t have much to say about “childless cat men” so I’ll stick to the “ladies”) who have no children have significantly more time to reflect on what’s going wrong in society and invest time in solving the challenges than, say, a working mom with several children, and possibly grandchilden. There is good chance that “mom” will make choices based on what is right for her offspring than on what is good for society as a whole. Which is perfectly human.
Women who have no children, as a result of a choice or otherwise, may well have a better view of the big picture, and be able to make more objective decisions that will benefit the majority rather than the minority.
Now to destroy my argument: being “childless” – or in my case, thankfully, and by choice, “child-free” – doesn’t mean that you don’t have dependents in the form of other humans, both young and old. Making decisions about the future of a country is not just about children. Someone who is childless or child-free may offer unique and interesting perspectives on a society that benefits people across generations and genders, rather than just “rich, white, middle-class, men”.
