Participatory processes and place-based experiences that democratise futures

Work with me to create place-based experiences and participatory processes that help people build the capacity to imagine possible futures, the awareness of their role in the story of the future, and capacity to act.

What if more people felt that they had a role to play in shaping possible futures?

The future that we get in 10-20-30 years shouldn’t be shaped exclusively by businesses, systems, and politicians.

It should be shaped by the people who will inhabit those futures, for themselves and for others – people and other life forms – who will inherit a world full of decisions we’ve made.

The thing is that many people are unaware that there are many possible futures (not just one), that they can imagine alternatives, that they have a role to play in the emerging story, and that they are aways that they can actively help to shape what comes next.

I run public engagement projects to build futures literacy, help people imagine alternatives, and develop artistic tools to flood the world with memories of better futures. And I partner with cities, communities, and research projects to develop custom approaches, too.

How to work together:

Building participatory processes

Invite me to tell you more about the multi-sensory, place-based processes that I’ve developed, and let’s explore how to reuse an existing process, or develop a new participatory process to help you get more public participation and engagement.

Partner on a project

Let’s talk about working together on an artistic or public engagement project that brings possible futures to life, and that gets “ordinary” humans involved in imagining and participating in shaping those futures.
