Walking, Sense-making & Sustainability
Work with me to craft interactive walks and participatory walkshops that are all about place, people and connection. I also occasionally teach and run workshops relating to sustainability themes.

To make sense of complex change, we need to to stop sleep-walking through our neighbourhoods and our lifes.
We need to disconnect from screens and reconnect with the world around us. Without this, even thinking about hopeful, sustainable futures can be a challenge.
I think of my walking and sense-making walks, walkshops, and walking initiatives as part fun (fun is important!) and part rebellion (let’s reclaim our streets and our feet!). They’re also part of what I call “strong sustainability” because they help us notice the world around us – and without this noticing, this awareness, choosing to think and act more sustainably, in local contexts, can be a challenge.
Approach: In my walks, I use multi-sensory walking methodologies to help people and groups slow down, pay attention, and explore their relationship with place, futures, and possibility. And I create spaces for others to share their walks, too.

Lead a walk in Tirol
I’ve created a community platform called “Zu Fuß in Tirol”, which means “On Foot in Tirol”. It’s focus is urban walks, not hikes and treks.

Commission a walk
I accept commissions to design custom walks and walkshops for communities, teams, and organisations, or to lead existing walking formats for private groups. These paid walks help to pay my bills and allow me to continue developing creative walking initiatives.
Partner on a walking project
Let’s find ways to work together to develop and lead new and interesting walking formats, for groups in Europe, Africa, and the world! I am open to artistic collaborations, working on creative and community initiatives, and contributing to Horizon Europe and other EU- and nationally-funded projects.
