What on earth is “Speed Booking”?
You’ve heard of “speed dating”, I’m sure: 20 people, who pair up with 10 people for 6 minutes – three minutes each to get to know each other, before the bell rings and its time to switch.
Speed Booking is similar, but instead of people seeking people to date, it’s about book lovers offering a recommended book to someone else to inspire them to “go on a date” with the book. In other words: read it.
Here’s how Speed Booking will work:
Step 1:
Think of a book that you want to recommend. It can be an old favourite or a recent read. It can be any genre, any language. You just need to be able to talk about it sensibly.
Step 2:
Remind yourself of the contents. Why are you recommending this? What’s interesting about the characters, plot, writing style, language etc.? You will be recommending the same book to everyone you speak to, but the discussion that follows may be different. (If you want to bring the book with you, great. If not, no problem.)
Step 3:
Join us for our Speed Booking event, ready to walk (we’ll be on foot unless the weather changes!) with +-6 other people over the course of 60-90 mins.
Optional:
We may have an ice-cream stop on the way, or stop for a coffee at the end. This depends on who shows up and who needs to get home etc.
We’ll be walking…
We’ll follow the Inn as we walk, so wear walking shoes or bring your walking aids and come walk (or roll!) with us.
Where we’ll meet:
At the entrance to LEOKINO on Anichstrasse. If the weather is bad, we’ll go inside.
