Monthly Monday Meetups:
We suggest two books and get together to chat about recent reads and discuss the books we read.
Seasonal Reading Salons:
At the start of each season, we choose a new theme and offer books to get people thinking. For three months, we dive deep into the topic, and get together at the end of the season to share experiences.
Books on Foot ("Walk-&-Talks"):
Gentle walks to meet fellow readers, get some fresh air and talk about beloved books.
Listening Lounge:
Here, the focus is on the audio experience. We’ll propose audio stories and get together to discuss the content AND the soundscape.
Special events:
From collaborations with local cultural organisations and book reading events, to our annual Christmas do, there’s always something happening!

Book club meetup in Innsbruck
We typically post the next 3 books and dates at a time – this allows people enough time to read the books AND gives everyone a chance to register. We use LUMA to manage events – it’s a simple tool that doesn’t require complicated registration!
You can see our list of 2025 planned books here →
Want to know what we talked about at our last book club – including recommendations from members? See here →
Sign up to receive a quick monthly update of up-coming gatherings & recommended/mentioned books
Short monthly-ish invitations with a list of dates and books on the list, plus books mentioned in the book club discussion, new book inspiration and 3 short stories for those short on time – that’s all. No spam. (Honestly, who has the time to spam people about book club?!)

What we’re about
Welcome! We’re a friendly, bi-lingual (English-German) book club group based in the heart of the Alps, in beautiful Innsbruck. We try to choose books that are available in DE & EN.
Read in whatever language you like – discussions take place in English & German (although mostly English).
We typically meet once a month on a Monday, with occasional extra meetings for book-related events in the region. We “close” for summer, and have at least one summer reading “picnic”.
We have about 80 members, of whom +-20 are “regulars”. We welcome all readers, both voracious “book worms” and people who are new to reading. Whatever your age, gender, cultural background, or beliefs, if you love books and are open to discussions about what we read, then you are WELCOME!
The book club is run by me, Suzanne Whitby. If you want to get in touch, feel free to send a note to me at hi@suzannewhiby.com.
